Sad News

We had some sad news at the gig on Sunday (Aug 4th) when we heard that  George Sims, one of the founders of Jazz Club 90 along with Allan Austin, died last week

at the age of 95.

After starting at the Old Bush in Albrighton the jazz had a couple of other venues before becoming established at the Harp with the help of the owner

Terry Pibworth.

George, known as “Mr. Raffle”, Allan and Terry helped to establish Jazz Club 90 in the early days, sadly none of them are with us  but without them we wouldn’t be here at the Social Club now.

George's funeral will take place at Telford Crematorium on Thursday August 29th at 11.30 am.

The crematorium is at Woodhouse Ln, Telford TF2 9NJ

Any collection/donations will be presented to the Albrighton Medical Practice.

If you decide to visit Jazz Club 90 you will find a very friendly club enjoyed by the musicians and audience alike.

There is plenty of comfortable seating where everyone can see the band, there is disabled access and toilets, the acoustics are excellent and Pete, the Club Steward, and his staff are more than helpful and welcoming. They will happily supply tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as a wide range of other drinks at very reasonable prices!

Marie's renowned fresh rolls are always available for your Sunday lunch!
